Read full description of the books:

Hiroko Tanaka menettää rakkaansa yhdessä häikäisevässä valonvälähdyksessä. Hänelle jää Nagasakin atomipommin jäljiltä vain linnunmuotoiset arvet selkään.

Hiroko lähtee Delhiin etsimään uutta alkua kuolleen kihlattunsa Konradin yläluokkaisen perheen luota. Hän löytää yllättävän sielunkumppanin, perheen Sajjad-nimisen palvelijan. Juuri kun pariskunta on asettumassa aloilleen, Intia alkaa natista liitoksistaan. Hirokon ja hänen uuden perheensä vaiheikas matka halki toisiinsa törmäävien kulttuurien, uskontojen ja ideologioiden on vasta alussa.
