Attorneys plan to preserve, move law offices to building they bought for $1.3 million

IMG_8442A pair of local attorneys has paid $1.3 million for a more than century-old Music Row building where they plan to move their law offices.

“This is one the few remaining historic buildings left on that Midtown stretch of Music Row,” said plaintiff lawyer Brian Manookian, who bought the property along with his law partner Brian Cummings.

“We’re absolutely going to occupy it, use it for our law firm and preserve the building.”

Cummings and Manookian bought the two-story, 4,074 square foot building at 45 Music Square W. from Whitehardt Properties LLC.

It is on the same block as Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, which was saved from the wrecking ball after sparking discussion about preservation vs. growth in the hub of Nashville’s music industry.

Cummings Manookian PLC plans renovations to the Music Row building, where the law firm plans to relocate within a month from its current offices at 102 Woodmont Blvd.

Legal advertising agency Whitehardt recently moved out of the Music Row building to the Hillsboro Village area. The members of selling entity Whitehardt Properties LLC are the legal advertising firm’s founders Kevin White and Felix Eckhardt and  its production director William Senese.

Stephen Prather, a broker with Chas. Hawkins Co., represented Cummings and Manookian during their purchase of the Midtown building. Hardwood floors throughout and roughly 12-foot ceilings are among features of the building, according to a marketing brochure.

Brokers SVN, SVN and SVN of real estate brokerage firm SVN Nashville represented Whitehardt Properties in selling 45 Music Square W. They also represented that entity in purchase of legal advertising agency Whitehardt’s new home at 2301 21st Ave. S.
